    Housing Information
    Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH) is provided by the military to help active service members with housing costs, and can be used for either on- or off-base housing.

    The Housing Management Office (HMO) will be your first point of contact when you receive moving orders, and provides services that will help you with referrals, relocation assistance, guidance for entering a lease agreement and tenant-landlord disputes.

    McGuire AFB On Base Housing  

    • Single airmen should contact The Unaccompanied Housing Office for McGuire-Dix (609) 754-5498 or for Lakehurst (732) 323-1268. All unaccompanied Airmen and Sailors with the rank of E1-E4 with less than 3 years of service are required to live in the UH campus. 

    • On-base housing for McGuire-Dix is privatized. To check available housing for your rank and family size, call United Communities (609) 200-0488. They offer 3-4 bedroom homes on base, with amenities like washer & dryer hook-ups, AC and walk-in closets. The community amenities includes: swimming pool, dog park, playgrounds and tot-lots. 

    • On-base housing for Lakehurst is also privatized. Contact Balfour Beatty Communities (732) 408-1651 to check for availble housing which fits your rank and family's needs. They have 2-5 bedroom single family homes and townhouses on base. Some of the community amenities include swimming pool and playgrounds.

    JB-MDL is in central New Jersey, in Burlington County, not near any major city. Philadelphia and Trenton are about an hour away; New York City is about an hour and a half away. There are several nearby towns and townships, including Brown Mills, Cookstown, New Egypt, North Hanover, New Hanover, Pemberton, Pemberton Township, and Wrightstown. All of these are small towns, within a half hour of base.     Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst is a joint base comprised of McGuire Air Force Base, Fort Dix, and the Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst. The joint base was merged in October of 2009 as part of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Initiative. This base is home to the 87th Air Base Wing and the 108th Air Refueling Wing. The 87th Air Base Wing provides support for over 3,900 facilities including over 40,000 Airmen, Soldiers, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, civilians and their families.
